By: Huson, Hobart L.
original red cloth with gilt title on cover and spine, 115 pages, INSCRIBED by author "Special Limited Edition for Subscribers to Judges' Portrait Fund" on half title page. "The object of this little book is to raise funds with which to complete the gallery of judges' portraits." Not just a biography of judges, but contains some important early Texas history as well. Has chapters on the Taylor-Sutton Feud and The Swift Tragedy, (the 1874 murder of Swift and his wife, ranchers on Saus Creek, ) and an account of the capture and imprisonment of a number of Texas citizens of Texas, at San Antonio de Bexar in September, 1842. Rare Texas item, held in universities, but no auction records, and missed by references. Adams Six-Guns lists Huson's later work "Refugio" and comments on the Taylor-Sutton Feud, but apparently was unaware of this item.
