The leather binding is more difficult to find and is usually is poor condition, due to it's size and history. Very Scarce, most of the editions were lost in the St, Joe flood. Laid in are some research notes and letters about Grouard and his later life. Grouard was a scout for Crook, captured by the Sioux when he was nineteen, spent seven years in the camps of Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse. Claimed to be the first white man to visit the Custer battlefield after the fight.
